Welcome to UTS:Education

In today's rapidly changing world, qualified effective educators are highly valued by organisations and have an important role to play both in Australia and overseas. UTS aim to professionally train educators to the highest standards to assist in either launching a new career, in equipping for career change, or to enhance professional development in education.

UTS:Education is known for initial and continuing professional education of school teachers, adult educators, TAFE teachers, TESOL and Language teachers, and for providing a range of courses in niche areas of education such as e-Learning, HRD and Organisational Learning, and Music Therapy. The Faculty also deliver short courses in Training & Assessment and Frontline Management.

UTS:Education has been consistently rated as having among the highest quality teaching and learning practices in the country (As rated by graduate surveys conducted by the Dept of Training, Education and Science). We are also one of the major education faculties in Australia with more than 2000 students are enrolled, and with 60 academic staff, many of whom are internationally recognised leaders in their fields.

UTS:Education can also provide exciting opportunities to develop your skills overseas. Our Primary Education students can undertake practical teaching experience in Thailand, China or Samoa. In addition, we have exchange arrangements with a number of countries in Europe and the US. All of our undergraduate course can be combined with a BA in International Studies, which enables you to undertake some of your studies overseas in one of our partner universities in a wide variety of countries.

In each of our courses, we recognise the importance of combining the latest theories with the practical experience of the workplace. We are continually informed by our Centre for Research in Learning and Change of which many of our academic staff are active members. The Centre has programs playing a leading role in researching and developing an understanding of the use of new technologies in teaching and learning practice. Our genuine commitment to ensuring our students' practical experience is broad based and relevant to help you gain the skills valued by employers today.

Our faculty is located on both UTS campuses. Our courses on Primary & Secondary Education and Music Therapy are delivered from the Kuring-gai campus, located near Chatswood and the beautiful Lane Cove National Park. Our courses in Adult Education, Language Literacy and Numeracy Education, Masters courses and Short Courses are delivered from the city campus in Building 10 on Broadway.

If you choose to study one of our courses you will have a stimulating and rewarding experience as a student in UTS Faculty of Education.

Welcome!
