Prior to returning to studying and starting her own business, Anne had 15 years experience in management roles with leading blue chip companies such as Qantas Airways, Hyatt International and the ANA Hotel in Sydney. In these roles Anne gained valuable knowledge and first hand experience in Human Resource Development (HRD) and realised the great and challenging opportunities that HRD can offer organisations seeking to improve their business performance, without compromising the value of their people.
Anne’s passion is e-Learning, as an early adopter in organisations has been working in this medium since 1996 and involved with the design and development of technology enhanced learning initiatives for a number of clients.
Anne has presented academic papers at both national and international conferences, and is a regular speaker for the Australian Institute of Training and Development.
She is the Executive Director of the Learning Technologies User Group in Australia, the chair of the Telelearning Special Interest Group for Teleconnections, and a board member of the Australian Businesswomen’s Network.
Teaching Areas: Anne currently researches, develops and delivers e-Learning subjects in the BAOL and BEd. Most recently she has developed the newly released AQTF qualification, the Diploma of e-Learning, for Training and Development Services in the Faculty of Education.
Research Areas: Anne is particularly interested in the forms of communication that e-Learning is constructing and current pedagogical practises that can more effectively engage the learner through the use of both synchronous and asynchronous technologies.
Anne commenced her PhD in 2004 and is investigating the development of knowledge artefacts through the use of electronic learning journals or blogs.
