Dr. Morgan is a lecturer in the field of Language & Literacy, course co-ordinator of the Graduate Diploma in Languages Teaching, and Director of International Students in the Faculty of Education. In 2008, he will coordinate the Languages Other Than English (LOTE) major in the graduate entry degree, Bachelor of Teaching in Secondary Education. He has vast experience in working with international students and in particular students from Japan studying to be language (LOTE) teachers. His course is highly regarded and attracts many students from outside Australia. He is fluent in German and has many years of experience in teaching German in secondary schools. Dr Morgan coordinates the following subjects: Language Development, Phonology and Pronounciation, Technology Enhanced language Learning, Professional Experience 1: Introduction to Teaching, and Professional Experience 2: Teaching and Learning in Context. His research interests include: sequencing of classroom activities and the use of the target language in the beginner learner classroom. He is currently completing a two year research project about home language maintenance and home literacy practices.
