Assoc Professor Schuck started her career as a secondary school teacher and then became a lecturer in primary and secondary mathematics. She currently teaches in a number of areas concerning teacher education, and is a member of several faculty committees. She is a  leader of the research cluster, Designs for Learning. She is also the course coordinator of the honours degrees in the Faculty.

Teaching Areas:

Mathematics education for prospective primary school teachers, research subjects, honours course preparation, Mentoring in the Workplace (Masters level subject), and an elective on the early years of teaching. Supervision of doctoral research students in different areas of education, including teacher professional formation, and learning in a digital age. In particular, supervised projects regarding pedagogical issues related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), mathematics education and self-study of teacher education practices.

  • Induction, mentoring and teacher professional learning
  • The use of ICTs and mobile technologies to enhance learning, including the use of web 2.0 technologies by school-aged students
  • Belief and practices in mathematics education in schools and teacher education institutions
