Introduction

UTS: Education has established itself as one of the most productive and exciting Faculties for research on learning wherever it occurs; in workplaces, organizations, communities, professions and educational institutions. Researchers also use this research to investigate the complex ways in which learning theories and practices influence and are influenced by contemporary change processes in these sites and how change processes are themselves embedded in and constructed by cultural and communication practices.

UTS: Education is located on both the City and Kuring-gai campuses of UTS and has a research culture that sustains an active cohort of research students at Masters and Doctoral levels. PhD graduates from UTS: Education have been highly commended and they have received prizes for their work. Overseas researchers frequently visit the UTS: Education and use it as a base for their sabbaticals.

Many of the research students are enrolled part-time and UTS: Education has developed an environment suitable for research study by those who are engaged in work elsewhere. The number of full-time students is also increasing and special purpose facilities have been provided at both City and Kuring-gai campuses to support them. Research scholarships have also been established and funds for research students made available for conference participation and the conduct of research.

An invitation is extended to join UTS: Education and participate in its research endeavours.
